Akhilesh Yadav News: BJP targets government over removal of reply Akhilesh Yadav

On Sunday, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav accused the Adityanath government of undermining the morale of the Uttar Pradesh police by removing chief Mukul Goel. On May 11, Goel was removed from the post of Director General of Police for incompetence and negligence and was appointed as the Director General (DG) of the Civil Defense Department. Later DS Chauhan was made the acting DGP of the state.

“Removing the UP DGP on the allegation that he neglected government work, was not interested in departmental work and was incompetent is a very childish excuse. It has lowered the morale of the police force,” Yadav said in a tweet in Hindi.

He questioned that Goel’s qualifications had not been verified at the time of appointment.

Goel, a 1987 batch IPS officer, was appointed police chief of Uttar Pradesh in June last year. He has previously served as the Additional Director General of the Border Security Force.

“Whether his aptitude (Goel) was not tested at the time of his appointment, so those who chose him are also guilty,” said the SP president and former chief minister.

Born in Muzaffarnagar, Goel holds a B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
