Arvind Kejriwal has met AAP MLAs in Delhi on the BJP’s crackdown

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s meeting with his party legislators, scheduled for Saturday, has been canceled in the wake of a massive fire in Mundka outside Delhi that killed 27 people, official sources said.

Several other events, including the inauguration of Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s electric vehicle charging point, have also been canceled, they said. Kejriwal, the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party, was scheduled to hold an important meeting with party legislators here to formulate a strategy against the anti-occupation campaign launched by BJP-ruled municipal corporations in the national capital.

The meeting was scheduled to start at 11 am at the Chief Minister’s official residence on Civil Lines. The fire broke out on Friday in the first floor of a four-story commercial building that houses the offices of a company that manufactures and assembles CCTV cameras and routers, police said. Kejriwal and Sisodia visited the spot to check the situation.

The Delhi Chief Minister has announced Rs 10 lakh each for those killed in the blaze and Rs 50,000 for those injured. “A magisterial inquiry has been ordered into the incident. The families of the victims will be compensated Rs 10 lakh, and the injured Rs 50,000, ”he said.
