Gujarat BJP’s ‘Chintan Shibir’ is over, discussion on assembly election strategy

The Gujarat BJP’s two-day ‘Chintan Shibir’ or churning session ended at a nearby club here on Monday evening.

It was attended by about 30 key leaders including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, National General Secretary of the party BL Santosh, Head of State Unit CR Patil and Gujarat Education Minister Jitu. Dr. Bhaghani.

Elections could be held in the state, where the BJP has been in power for 27 years, in December.

Without elaborating on what happened during the meeting, Bhaghani told reporters that the BJP would focus more on the seats it lost in the 2017 assembly elections.

“We will work to strengthen our strong seats to ensure victory by a wide margin and set the tone for the 2024 general election,” Bhaghani said, adding that the party leadership had discussed and analyzed the results of past elections.

“We discussed how different cells, such as the Women’s Cell, the OBC Cell and the Youth Front, could play a significant role in the election. In the coming days, the party will finalize the program of national leaders like Amit Shah and JP Nadda in Gujarat, ”he said.

As the BJP has a tradition of “joint leadership”, Bhaghani said elections would be held under the leadership of CM Bhupendra Patel, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gujarat party chief CR Patil and Home Minister Amit Shah.

In the 2017 elections for the 182-member assembly, the BJP retained power by winning 99 seats, just seven above the majority.
