Indigo has named Peter Elbers as its new CEO, and Dutt will retire on September 30

Indigo, the country’s largest internal budget carrier, on Wednesday announced the appointment of Peter Elbers as its chief executive officer, replacing current Ranjoy Dutt.
Dutt, 71, who came to operate the airline in January 2019, decided to retire on September 30 after guiding the airline through turbulent Covid times, Indigo said in a statement.
The Elbers appointment, which is subject to regulatory approval, will take effect on or before October 1, it said.
Since 2014, Elbers, 52, has served as President and CEO of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. He is also a member of the executive committee of the Air France-KLM group, the airline said.

After his return to the Netherlands, he was appointed senior vice president of the network and alliance before being promoted to chief operating officer in 2011, it said.
