According to media reports, the Bihar Education Department has prepared the Bihar Coaching Institute (Control and Control) Rules 2022 by which the state government plans to regulate and control the centers and coaching institutes located in the state.

As part of the new law, registration with the state government will be mandatory for all coaching centers operating in the state. In addition, colleges and schools, as well as coaching centers, now have to provide standardized facilities to students, including a team of teachers and tutors to teach students, as well as the necessary infrastructure for teaching students. . In addition, the proposed legislation by the state government would require coaching institutes to share the fee structure for various programs and courses with the state government.

The Department of Education has proposed an implementation plan where coaching institutes will have 30 days to complete the registration process. To register, organizations have to pay Rs.5000 at the time of registration and Rs.3000 for renewal every 3 years.

It is a criminal offense to run a coaching institute without registration. It took the state government almost a decade to implement the law enacted in 2010. According to the regulations, centers that are not registered or renewed with the state will be treated as a criminal offense and Rs 25,000 will be levied for the violation. In case of first offense, second offense Rs 1 lakh and in case of multiple violations, registration of coaching center may also be canceled.
