Sony launches WH-1000XM5 wireless headphones, company promises better sound

Sony has launched a successor to its hugely popular WH-1000XM4 Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones. The new model – WH-1000XM5 – comes with some changes and improvements and high price tag

The Sony WH-1000XM5 has a new design that makes the yokes more cylindrical and the headband thinner. The headband has a stapleless sliding design and a silent joint. The new year cups introduced with the Sony WH-1000XM5 can rotate sideways but not fold inwards like previous models. Sony, however, adjusts the quark by including a larger carry case with the WH-1000XM5.

The WH-1000XM5 features a new 8-microphone system with two QN1 audio processors. The Japanese electronics major claims that the Sony WH-1000XM5 had higher noise canceling performance than its predecessor, especially at mid- and high-frequency.

The Sony WH-1000XM5 also comes with a brand new driver. The new 30mm driver is smaller than the 40mm driver found in the previous model. Sony claims that the new drivers have improved the high-frequency response with more natural sound quality. The headphones still support the same AAC, SBC and LDAC Bluetooth codecs as the previous generation.

Other features of the Sony WH-1000XM5 include Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity with multipoint connectivity, support for Google Fast Pair and Windows Swift Pair, gesture control, ambient noise mode, wear detection for play / pause and Alexa or Google Assistant support.

The new Noise Canceling headphones have a battery life of 30 hours of audio playback and the active noise cancellation feature is turned on and 40 hours if the feature is turned off. Headphones charge via a USB-C connector

Sony WH-1000XM5 Noise Canceling Headphones cost $ 400 – নায় 50 compared to the premium WH-1000XM4. Sony has also announced that sales of the WH-1000XM4 will continue.
