‘We can’t change the regime’: YCK questions opposition’s ‘silence’

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi questioned the “silence” of opposition parties, including the Congress and the Samajwadi Party, in a video survey of the Gyanvapi mosque complex in Varanasi on Saturday, alleging that Muslims were keeping silent because they were not their vote bank. OIC said the constitution allows Muslims to follow their culture and identity and “we will continue to do so, both at home and abroad.”
Why are opposition parties like Congress, Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party silent on the issue of Gyanbapi Mosque? They are not saying anything because Muslims are not their vote bank, “said All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief at an Eid Milap program in Ahmedabad.
The Gyanvapi Mosque is located near the iconic Kashi Bishwanath Temple. A court ordered a videography survey of the Gyanvapi mosque complex that sought permission for daily prayers in front of the idol on its outer wall in a case jointly filed by five Hindu women. The survey resumed on Saturday following a local court order amid tight security, officials said.
Calling the BJP, the Congress, the AAP, and the Samajwadi Party “fanatical parties”, the OYC has complained that they want Muslims to be Muslims only at home and adopt their (parties’) culture outside.
“The Constitution of India allows you to follow your culture, your identity. We will continue to do so both at home and abroad, ”said the Hyderabad MP. “I have come to tell you and the government that we have lost one Babri mosque, but we will not lose another. They have snatched our (Babri’s) mosque by trickery and killed justice, but remember, you cannot snatch another mosque, “said Owaisi.
He said the Gyanbapi Mosque was and will remain a mosque. The OIC said the 1991 Place of Worship Act states that the religious character of a place of worship, as it existed on August 15, 1947, would remain unchanged and that anyone attempting to change its nature and character could face up to three years in prison.
